Blue Christmas Service

December 21 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

A Blue Christmas service, also known as a Longest Night service, is intended to serve as a space for those who find the holidays difficult due to grief, loss, or other struggles. Last year Grassroots held its first Blue Christmas service and many found it to be a powerful and important part of the Christmas season worth repeating.  This is a contemplative and gentle space that allows for acknowledging pain, remembering loved ones, and finding hope by focusing on the Christian theme of light overcoming darkness. The service will include quiet music, reflective readings, Scripture, prayers, and likely a candle-lighting ceremony.
