Our youth group meets on Monday nights throughout the year and starts with announcements and classic youth group games. Then the group breaks out into two groups (7-8 co-ed) and 9-12 (co-ed).
Topics that are explored in GYG range from understanding what the Bible is and how to read it to learning how to live what the Bible teaches. We love watching videos from Bible Project or going through devotionals together. Listening to guest speakers share their stories of faith or a particular teaching is always a welcome interruption to our regular small group sessions.
Discussion is always lively and edifying for both youth and leaders!
GYG also loves to meet outside the church. We try to have a few fun event nights, we travel in fall for a retreat together. And in the Spring we do a large group service project together. In years past we have had a lock in, traveled to Grand Marais, raced each other tubing at Loch Lomond, hosted a 30 Hour Famine, and joined in the masses at the giant youth retreat called Planet Wisdom.
We’d love for any youth 7-12 grade to join in GYG. You can get more info by contacting our youth director: Isaac Veurink at firstname.lastname@example.org.
